Hello and Welcome!

Writing has not always been my forte, and the same goes for reading. There were times growing up that I didn't have the slightest clue what I would write about, even when I was told what the topic had to be. If I am being honest with myself (and you, of course), I definitely never thought that I would one day be a published author.

The fact that I am, though, is overwhelmingly delightful in a good way, of course. It is overwhelming in the sense that I am still wrapping my mind around the thought that I was able to take words, put them in complete sentences, and create this other world (so to speak), that will allow others to read it, love it, or hate it, yet, still know that someone was willing to take a chance on a new author. (Just reading that looks delightful.... see what I did there. ha ha)

While this isn't a place where you will get all my deep, dark secrets (don't worry, everyone has something), it is a place where you can come to see my trials and tribulations of continuing to write the next book in my series. You may even be granted a few behind-the-scenes looks at how it is coming along if you are one of the lucky few who took a chance on me. But above all that, you will get the real me, that I try to pour into every word I write, every paragraph edited, every exclamation point properly placed. You get the undeniable, full of laughs (yes, I love to laugh at myself), accident-prone, open book of Tabatha Akers. Here you will see me for me, and I hope, in all the ridiculousness of the world, that I can create a safe space, even if it is for a moment, to escape reality. So, come on in and join me on this road we call life, and let's see what happens next.
